TikTok Shines Light on FAIR Health Consumer Website

What do fairhealthconsumer.org and the app TikTok have in common? Just ask Dr. Jenaya Calderilla. Her three-part TikTok series showed people who didn’t have health insurance how to manage their healthcare bills using FAIR Health’s Medical Cost Lookup Tool. In the series, Dr. Calderilla goes through what to do to find out how much a urine test costs. After the consumer puts in the provider zip code and CPT^®1 code, FAIR Health Consumer shows the typical cost for a urine test in the area selected. Uninsured consumers can then use the data to negotiate with their doctor. According to BuzzFeed, the series has had over 4.5 million views.

Dr. Calderilla is just one TikToker who’s shared videos about FAIR Health Consumer. Take Vivian Tu, who makes videos to help young people save money. She featured FAIR Health’s Medical Cost Lookup Tool in an April video to show people how to lower their healthcare bills.

Other TikTokers have featured FAIR Health’s Medical Cost Lookup Tool in their TikTok videos. FAIR Health Consumer has gained significant traffic due to the TikTok videos.
